May 3, 2012 - PRLog -- Eighty percents of all adults will have back pain. Our erect posture places a great demand of compressive stress on our lumbar spinal segments, predisposing us to injury. The second most common physical ailment is shoulder pain. he shoulder, being very mobile, produces an inherent lack of stability, which also predisposes us to shoulder injury.

Hernandez has always been interested in fitness and played lots of baseball. It was the pre-med magnet program at Gorton High School in Yonkers that got him on the path to become a physical therapist. He graduated in the first doctor of physical therapy class at New York University in 2001.

He keeps current with the latest treatment by reading the most recent findings and attaining board certifications. He has also taught at New York Medical College.

Hernandez treats a wide variety of ailments, musculoskeletal problems such as tennis elbow and knee problems; and neuro-muscular problems such as pinched nerves and carpal tunnel syndrome. In addition to accidents and sports injuries, computer use creates repetitive strain injuries.

For the most common of physical ailments, back pain, Hernandez is a proponent of spinal decompression therapy involves computerized mechanical pulling removing excessive pressure from discs. Decompressing the spine alleviates pressure on intervertebral discs and nerves and elongates soft tissues to reduce spasm, thereby leading to pain relief.

A diagnosis that’s treated in its acute stage will more likely respond favorably than a diagnosis that’s treated once it reaches its chronic stage.
