Follow on Google News | Cassidian showcase next generation Vehicle Protection technology in KazakhstanA next generation Vehicle Protection Jammer that significantly enhances the protection of military vehicles against attacks by radio controlled improvised explosive devices (RCIESs).
By: Carol Jenkins The Vehicle Protection Jammer uses the new, ultra-fast Smart Responsive Jamming Technology to enhance the protection level substantially. It detects and classifies radio signals intended to ignite a roadside bomb. Then, it responds and transmits in real-time jamming signals tailored exactly to the hostile frequency band. Thereby, it is capitalizing on new digital receiver and signal processing technologies to achieve reaction times of well below a microsecond. This avoids the huge diverging loss of output power inherent in earlier-generation barrage jammers and concentrates the jamming energy on currently active threats only. The Vehicle Protection Jammer core equipment can easily be built into even small vehicles and therefore is ideally suited to replace older equipment. Also on display will include: Border Security Cassidian presents its technological progress by staging interactive, latest-generation scenarios projected in 3D in the so-called TouchLab. In its TouchLab, Cassidian is presenting scenarios featuring various situations and presenting its customers with a display in an interactive environment of its unique innovative solutions that have been developed to meet the challenges of the future. A border protection scenario is showcasing Cassidian’s key expertise in lead systems integration, which is the basis of the Cassidian offering to customers for optimum territorial protection. Cassidian is currently the prime contractor of the most advanced integrated border protection systems, for instance, for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Romania. The border and national security systems are integrated into C4ISR systems (Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance) Sensors for Mission Intelligence In the field of defence, Cassidian concentrates on medium range surveillance and target acquisition radars for both air, sea and ground applications. On display is Cassidian's proven TRML-3D ground radar. TRML-3D is a mobile surveillance and target acquisition radar, which can be integrated easily into existing air defence networks by means of its own command & control functionality. TRML is in service in Lithuania, the Netherlands and Malaysia. Military Air Traffic Control Solution CASSIDIAN is the leading European company for the whole Identification Friend Foe (IFF) portfolio comprising interrogators, transponders, cryptographic computers and flightline-testers. Cassidian proposes with its MSSR 2000 I equipment suite a very cost effective solution for the mandatory ATC/surveillance tasks at airports. The military side has to fulfil the same regulations than the civil ATC side but on top they have their own identification means for surveillance -IFF. Latest developments and qualifications comprise the equipment to be fielded for NATO Mode 5. For use in small helicopters and UAVs, CASSIDIAN developed the smallest, lightest and the only civil EASA certified IFF transponder, LTR 400. While employing the latest ATC/IFF standards, this allows for easy integration even into limited space of helicopters and smaller aircraft. The Monopulse IFF / ATC Interrogator is shown on the Cassidian stand and the whole system consists of the Interrogator, Rack, Antenna (if required) and display suit. The system is fully configurable to the in situ installation. Contact: Deborah Waddon +44 (0) 7919 696 443 deborah.waddon@ Cassidian Press centre: http://www.cassidian.com/ End
