By: Per SanCap MLS On the Real Estate track for 2012, we have just completed the first lap. The crowd has been cheering loudly. Patrons are visiting open houses, and responding on our websites. Excitingly, famous travelers like Frommer have been lauding our successes. Realtors are loving life. The Brokers hit the stop watch and reached Real Estate's time for the first of four laps; the pace is up over last year. This is a very good sign that the economy is progressing, clients realizing that prices are at a record low and interest rates are in the 4% range. Everyone is forecasting price increases. The strong performers leading the race for the 1st lap (1st quarter) are in Lane 1. Residential average sales on Sanibel increased 12%. That runner has become really trim. Our high ranking runner in Lane 2 is Gulf Front sales.That run has really looked good. Million dollar sales in this top tier have doubled this year, over last. Lane 3, the biggest gainer this year, is condo sales on Sanibel. Condo dales units have increased 40% with three quarters of the sales below $600,000. Lane 4, Captiva Residential, came with its own press team and has performed admirably. Captiva closings have been better this year than the last four years combined. The announcer speaks, the coaches encourage, the fans are happy, people are into the Real Estate. Times look good as enter the second lap; many spectators have returned to the track and will be viewing the race. Owning Real Estate on the islands is satisfying and has a way of enhancing one's overall health and well being, way less nerve wracking than stocks! In summary, the sales volume for the Sanibel Captiva Board of Realtors showed a 22% increase. The number of sales the agents put together was up by 11%. Remarkably, John R. Wood Island Real Estate 77% in volume (outperforming the Board by55%)! Our office was up 27% in completed sales(up 16% over all other agents.) So stay in touch with us.
