May 2, 2012 - PRLog -- At the beginning of May 2012, the latest Pembury Publishing novel made its appearance. The Governess, another step forward in the Modern Classics Series, is a novel of some 117,000 words with a professionally designed cover and 320 crisp white pages. Its cost, which used to be a problem for arts writers, is a normal retail price. The sort of price seen in shops. The literary project moves on!

So what's the novel about? Well, here's the blurb on the back of the book:

Twenty-two year old Mary Charlton goes to Princeton Court to be assistant governess to young Harry Toille and soon takes on the additional role of chaperone and friend to his elder sister, Jocasta Cecil, a pretty girl of twenty with forty thousand pounds. Mary is attracted to wealthy Nicholas Hammick, who is intended for Jocasta, and Jocasta herself falls in love with a trainee schoolmaster holidaying in the area. Meanwhile both girls are threatened by the malign presence of Harry's father, Lord Byram.

Hope you all enjoy this novel as much as the others. The Governess page on the website, www.margaret-bowker.com, has more details and an excerpt, as does the wordpress release. May all the UK and world Arts groups continue to flourish!
