Avasant Chairs California Cloud Computing Seminar

May 2, 2012 - PRLog -- Avasant Chaired the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) Southern California Cloud Computing Seminar “Driving Value: Leveraging the Cloud” on March 28, 2012. The seminar was held at the Office of Morrison & Foerster and was attended by CIOs and senior-level decision makers from the industry.

As organizations gear up to respond to the global economic challenge, and try to drive economic efficiencies in their operations – cloud computing acts as a technological lever to achieve this goal. Cloud computing provides organizations a flexible technology platform, which can be tuned to the business needs of the organization. The modular and scalable architecture of the cloud significantly optimizes the investments required in technology to meet business goals. However, as with all technological innovations, benefits come but not without its implementation challenges. The seminar was focused on discussing how organizations can reap the benefits of the cloud while mitigating its risks? The session provided CIOs and decision makers from user organizations information on best practices and practical tips for building an effective cloud computing strategy.

Avasant Partner, Bob Randolph delivered a keynote speech on “IT Sourcing Strategy in the Era of Cloud Computing”.  Mr. Randolph stressed on the need to identify right reason to adopt cloud strategy and leverage right implementation principles based on the business objectives. He also outlined the need for creating an enterprise cloud roadmap. “Cloud Computing is changing the outsourcing ecosystem and pronounced effects will be seen in the next 2-5 years”, added Mr. Randolph.
