Follow on Google News | Cursed Man tops downloads. Workman's "Howl" debuts #1 in print. - Sunbury Press April bestsellersSunbury Press has released the bestseller list for the month of Aprilh, 2012. Novelist Morris Workman's "Howl of a Thousand Winds" was first in print. Keith Rommel's horror novel "The Cursed Man" claimed the lead of all eBook formats.
By: Tammi Knorr Farrell & Farley's "Keystone Tombstones Volume I" continued to sell well thanks to author appearances on TV and radio. John Loase's "Obama's Great Education Lie" sold well thanks to author events. Jess Steven Hughes' Roman novel "The Sign of the Eagle," Bob Knapp's "The Devil's Palm" and Carrie Nyman's "Why Aren't You Sweet Like Me" were top-selling fiction. William Lemaski's Kermit Roosevelt biography, "Lost in the Shadow of Fame" and Helen Angeny's Church of the Brethren WW2 missionary experience "Behind Barbed Wire and High Fences" rounded out the print list. Historical fiction sold well in eBooks, grabbing four spots: "Murder in the 7th Cavalry" by Robert Broomall, "Sage" by Bob Wood, "Jim" by Paul Argentini and "Why Aren't You Sweet Like Me?" by Carrie Nyman. Pennsylvania Anthracite (Coal) Region novels "Black Emeralds" by Duane Feagley and "Robbing the Pillars" by Mike Breslin rounded out the top-selling ficiton. The late Hugh Fox's autobiography "Who, Me?", one of the founders of the Pushcart Prize, ranked #9. Sales for the month of April were down over 25% compared to same month sales in 2011. Sales declined in all categories due to a lighter than usual release schedule. Year-to-date, sales are down 11% overall as compared to last year, including a 19% decline in print-on-demand sales and 32% decline in inventoried book sales. EBook sales have more than tripled, year-to-date, as compared to last year, though the increase is not enough to offset declines in print. The company remains profitable despite the revenue declines.
