-- Farmbook, a Russian online agricultural sales platform, has a new service to offer: a search for farmers selling environmentally friendly farming and cottage foods with delivery at door. The main idea behind the Farmbook project is to enable producers and buyers to interact directly bypassing any intermediaries.
During the last years, we have been observing a growing demand by Russian consumers for healthy foods and environmentally friendly products, the so called organic food. The modern buyers have become more picky and fastidious, they are looking for a better choice and more effective spending options.
Today’s demand by the modern buyers has contributed a lot to the development of Farmbook, a unique platform allowing the buyers to purchase certified and quality-guaranteed products directly from the producer.
The Farmbook’s database contains a wide range of not only Russian, but also European agricultural producers. The product assortment includes diary products, fish and meat products, grain and oil crops, as well as vegetables and fruit. For your convenience, all the producers are marked on a map so you can choose one being the most suitable for you and agree on delivery.
“In the recent years, the Russian agricultural sector has been adopting global trends and best practices. In particular, retailing has risen to a new level – the producer-to-
consumer chain has been considerably simplified. Today, a buyer may choose an environmentally friendly product directly from a producer, this being a guarantee of the best quality and minimum price. The purchasing process has become as short as a few clicks following which you get the products delivered at your door”, - commented Bjoerne Drechsler, the author of the Farmbook.info internet project.
