Olympus Brands Announce NuviFlex Price Rise to Ensure the Arthritis Treatment Supplement for Pets

According to Olympus Brands founder, Sinead Imbaro, the price increase came as a result of new FDA regulations, which require supplement manufacturers to perform thorough testing of their products. It is the FDA guidelines and product testing that has ensured that Nuviflex remains a premium hip and joint supplement.

“The raw material based dietary supplemental industry is facing a new set of regulations that the US FDA passed. From the FDA's perspective, a primary problem with the dietary supplement industry prior to 2007 related to inconsistent quality in the ingredients used in supplements and a corresponding lack of traceability to the origination of those ingredients,” said Imbaro, who started Olympus Brands to help animals enhance their quality of life after witnessing the arthritic pains of her own pets.

All active ingredients in the NuviFlex Hip and Joint Formula Products, manufactured in the USA at the company’s cGMP and FDA registered facility, are tested by the US Pharmacopeia (USP) for 1) Purity, 2) Potency 3) Identity and 4) Composition.

To enable this testing to take place, new raw materials with the ability to have their identity and potency confirmed were introduced to the product. It was the introduction of these raw materials that has raised production costs for the product, which is made from 100% Human Grade ingredients, due to the fact that manufacturing takes place at a human pharmaceutical facility rather than a pet plant.

According to Imbaro, the company have experienced a much greater rise in manufacturing costs as a result of the FDA changes than is reflected in their new price point.
