On The Tracks Brewery Launches Kickstarter.com Fundraiser with Zombie Video To Raise Funds

April 27, 2012 - PRLog -- On The Tracks Brewery (OTT), a family-owned brewery, recently launched a web-based fundraising campaign at Kickstarter.com  (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/549524189/brew-ocalypse) that features an original home-brewed zombie video that encourages beer enthusiasts to make a pledge.  The funds are being raised for the purchase of essential new brewing equipment that will help transform the OTT operation from a nanobrewery into a microbrewery.  The fundraising goal is set at $17,000 and the deadline for raising the monies is May 17, 2012.

Pledge dollars will be used to purchase and install fermentation tanks, a wort chiller and other equipment needed to complete a seven barrel (220 gal) brewery.  Pledges of $5 to $10,000 are being sought and pledgers will receive limited edition merchandise ranging from logo sticks to pint glasses and T-shirts to mini-vacations and beer crafting parties.  

Opening in May 2011, OTT brews English and Scottish style beers, some of which are seasonal, fortified by edibles like ginger root, cinnamon, and Julian pears.  It’s most popular brews include Golden Spike Session, Ginger Beer, Baltic Pepper Porter and Pullman Porter.  

“We are on the cusp of becoming one of the area’s top microbreweries with about 75% of the required equipment installed and all government approvals,” explains John Davison, OTT brewery manager.  “We invite the community to make a pledge, however big or small, at kickstarter.com and then come by and visit our tap room for a drink of our fine hand-crafted brews.”  

With a new system, OTT will be able to brew 500% more beer in less than half the time.  A nanobrewery is the smallest brewery operation offering hand-crafted batches of 1.6 barrels at a time.  A microbrewery produces a limited amount of beer, usually fewer than 15,000 US beer barrels per year.
