Jaipur : Banwari Lal Rao, a senior artist of Mumbai performed classical music in Jaipur on Thursday, April 26, 2012. Banwari Lal Rao started his performance with Bada Khayal in Raag Yaman. He also performed Chota Khayal in Raag Yaman and Thumri. Pandit Laxman Sharma accompanied him on Tabla, Pandit Ramesh Mewal accompanied him on Harmonium, and Surabhi Samdani accompanied him with vocal performance. Banwari Lal Rao was performing in Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur in "Thursday Musical Evening".
Banwari Lal Rao is a senior disciple of Aacharya Pandit Rajaram Shukla. He is also a great Tabla player. He accompanied many famous and senior artists of vocal music and instrumental music with his Tabla. Pandit Shashi Mohan Bhatt, Leelawati Adshule, Shakuntala Mathur, Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Nirmala Devi, Vani Jairam, Kathak Samrat Pandit Krishna Kumar, Dance guru Pandit Gauri Shankar are few of the world renowned artists of the list of artists for whose performances, Banwari Lal Rao accompanied on his Tabla. Banwari Lal Rao also gave his many solo performances on Tabla across India. He also get the recognition of “B” high grade artist from Aakashvani and Doordarshan.
"Sajan Ghar Aao..." was his wonderful performance on Thursday, April 26 in Jawahar Kala Kendra with which he started his performance in Tarana style. "Guni Jan Baith Gun Gaave..." and "Dauri Dauri Jaat Piya Milan Ko..." in Chota Khayal was also pleased the audience a lot. At the last of the program, he performed "Malaniya Goonth Laao Phoolan Ke Harwa..." in Jhap Taal, and Thumri "Hamare Lage Naina Tuhmri Aur...” He was prompting applause of the audience on his excellent performance. Few of the foreign tourists also enjoyed Indian classical music performances of Banwari Lal Rao in Jaipur.
