SoliDDD Adds Laser Printing for its Glasses-free 3D Technology with ImageTech and Polielettronica

Realistic, Photographically-printed 3D for Theatrical and Advertising Applications now Available using LaserLab Printers; ImageTech is US Distributor

April 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Las Vegas, Nev. (CinemaCon) — SoliDDD Corp. (www.soliddd.com), the creator of truly lifelike 3D™, has certified Polielettronica LaserLab printers—as sold and serviced by Oakland, Calif.-based ImageTech (imagetechdigital.com)—as the first laser printers that can photographically print SoliDDD glasses-free 3D prints, posters, and other out-of-home media. SoliDDD has named ImageTech a prime partner for the sales, service, and certification of Polielettronica LaserLab printers and the LaserLab high-resolution upgrade. SoliDDD is exhibiting in the Callahan Digital Cinema booth (#M4) at the CinemaCon Trade Show, April 24-26, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, showing samples of the company's 3D print technologies.

SoliDDD glasses-free 3D images deliver significantly more depth than all previous attempts at printed 3D, with 23 inches of depth in full focus in a one-sheet theatrical poster (27"x40") from distances of 1.5 feet away to 30 feet away.

"The 3D printing technology by SoliDDD is unlike anything I have ever seen before," said Mark Spandorf, Owner and President of ImageTech, LLC. "You not only get the most incredible depth, but
you get full focus and high resolution. This is probably the most important advance in 3D printing in years."

With a system that is far more accurate than previous lenticular 3D printing, SoliDDD can also accomplish what has been a holy grail for lenticular 3D: the lens can be permanently installed in a frame (either backlit or reflective) and prints can be made on inexpensive substrates (including paper and vinyl) and swapped out repeatedly by using the SoliDDD Replaceable Picture-Frame (RPF) system.

SoliDDD has certified the complete line of ImageTech-sold and serviced Polielettronica Labs' LaserLab printers with the high-resolution upgrade as the first laser printers qualified to print SoliDDD's multiple patents-pending, glasses-free 3D technologies. This includes the Compact LaserLab 50x115 and 76x125, as well as the LaserLab 50x115, 76x125, and 127x254 laser printers (the LaserLab model number is equivalent to the print size in centimeters). ImageTech is the US distributor and servicer for Polielettronica's LaserLab printers and high-resolution upgrade.

“Certifying the Polielettronica LaserLab printers gives our customers a true photographic 3D image unlike anything previously available,” said Neal Weinstock, CEO of SoliDDD. “The quality we get out of the LaserLab printers is due, in no small measure, to the dedication that ImageTech brings to those printers. With ImageTech's custom profiles for the LaserLabs, users can be assured that they are getting the best 3D laser prints possible at a price point that is just as amazing."

SoliDDD pictures and posters represent a quantum leap in autostereographics. Using the fundamental equations of physics and optics, together with advanced optical design methods and proprietary printing specifications, ImageTech and SoliDDD can now deliver realistic, photographically-printed glasses-free 3D image with far more depth and greater viewing freedom than most 3D experts thought would ever be possible.
