April 26, 2012 - PRLog -- SIMI VALLEY, CALIF.--The Simi Valley Family YMCA will begin enrolling students for summer swim lessons on May 7 (current YMCA members, April 30).  The Y offers five swim sessions during the summer with the first session beginning June 18. All classes take place in the Simi Y's heated indoor swimming pool.

Swim sessions consist of eight, half-hour swim lessons for all age groups from as early as age six months (parent/tot class) to ages six and up. Private and group lessons are available.

"The YMCA is the first organization in America to offer structured swim lessons," says Andrea Miller, Simi Y's aquatics director. "The Y's teaching method is designed to help each child develop to their fullest potential, acquire pool safety awareness and master swim skills to the best of their ability. The Y programs are also an excellent way for kids to make new friends and, of course, have fun."

Morning, afternoon and Saturday classes are available. To register, go to www.sevymca.org/onlineregistration.html or register in person at the Simi Y (3200 Cochran St., Simi Valley). Call 805-583-5338 for more information.
