By: NewSat Being one of the most successful and longest running conferences and trade shows for offshore technology experts, the OTC has been a major force in fostering market growth by enabling satellite communications professionals and offshore technology experts to share market insights, spread technological awareness and provide networking opportunities. Every year, the OTC attracts industry gurus who share their best practices along with technology providers which showcase their groundbreaking innovations. As the Jabiru-1 Ka band communications satellite nears completion, Wright and Paldao will orient the community of the larger satellite communications capacity from Australia's first locally owned satellite. Jabiru-1 will most cover the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Lockheed Martin began the construction of the Ka band satellite this year and is expected to complete it by 2014. The OTC was first held in 1969 and has now grown into a major platform for promoting collaboration in the offshore technology industry. Most of OTC activities and presentations will be conducted at Reliant Park in Houston, Texas from April 30 to May 3. Key events include the Astros Baseball game, technology exhibits, topical lunches and breakfasts, technical discussions and the annual dinner, to be held at George R. Brown Convention Center. Mr Wright and Mr. Paldao welcome appointments and meetings in Houston. Visit http://newsat.com for more information, or call +61 3 9674 4644. End
