April 25, 2012 - PRLog -- GENEVA (April 20, 2012) —  Switzerland’s International Baccalaureate Organization has granted THINK Global School its full authorization as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. THINK Global School is the world’s first traveling international boarding high school.

The IB authorization will allow the school to offer the IB Diploma Programme to its 11th-grade students during the upcoming 2012-13 academic year, and to graduate its first class of IB Programme students in 2013-14.

The IB curriculum emphasizes rigorous analytical thinking and independent research, and culminates with intensive final examinations that prepare students for success at university and beyond. Universities around the world place students who have completed the IB Diploma in high esteem, and often grant these students advanced status upon admission.

THINK Global School has been an official IB candidate school since 2010, and has worked with IB staff to integrate its unique educational model with the IB Organization’s mission "to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world."

“The IB authorization means that our Global School is now an internationally recognized World School,” says Joann McPike, the Bahamas-based photographer who founded TGS with her husband Harald McPike. “Although it is truly gratifying to see the achievements of our faculty and our students rewarded in this fashion, we believe this is merely a starting point for what this school can become in the future.”

“The internationally respected curriculum and high standards of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme will help guide us in providing an excellent education for our students,” says Sally Booth, Director of Curriculum for THINK Global School. “We're confident that they will be well prepared for the academic challenges of the IBDP as a result of their unique 9th and 10th grade experience at TGS!"
