April 25, 2012 - PRLog -- The largest health study of Latinos ever conducted in the US is taking place right now.

The Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos (HCHS/SOL) is a multi-center epidemiologic study of Hispanic and Latino volunteers to help determine the role of acculturation in the prevalence and development of disease, and to identify factors playing role in Hispanics/Latinos.

This Historic study is being conducted in the cities of Chicago, New York, Miami and San Diego with a total of 16,000 participants.
It is crucial to have all participants continue to stay in contact with the study. Their continued participation can provide valuable long term study data on this demographic and help the Latino/Hispanic families as well as healthcare providers better understand the health needs of the Hispanic/Latino community.

Among many doing their part to spread the word about the study; the Former American Cancer Society National President, and Director of the Cancer Preventorium at the Washington Cancer Institute, Dr. Elmer Huerta is the spokesperson on these P.S.A. Dr. Huerta has been scientific spokesperson for many health related government issues.
