-- The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce announces the proposals selected for funding for the Summer grant cycle. Funding as been awarded to The LBI Business Alliance for LBI Fest, Our Gang Players for 2012 Season, The Jetty Life Clam Jam, The Red, White & Blue Fire Works Committee of Beach Haven, Founder's Day of Waretown and The Stafford Township Arbor Day Celebration. The organizations have been invited to send a representative to receive their check at the Southern Ocean Chamber membership luncheon on May 8 at the Holiday Inn in Manahawkin.
Recognizing the need to help local events thrive, The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce created a Funding Committee three years ago to field, review and make recommendations to the Chamber Board to sponsor local programming, events and activities. Funding Requests can be submitted by downloading the proper form on the visitLBIregion.com website, under the Chamber section. The Funding Review Committee meets three times a year to discuss proposals that help forward the mission the of the almost one hundred year old regional business institution. Funding for the awards come from monies raised by Chowderfest and other chamber activties.
