‘Eurospatial Communications Formed - New Online Spatial Information Publisher’
April 25, 2012 - Berlin, Germany / Bredene, Belgium - Eurospatial Communications has commenced operations, combining two European-based industry veterans with a long history in geospatial and geoinformation publishing.
April 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Jeff Thurston was previously founder of Vector1 Media and has acted formerly as editor on numerous spatially related publications in Europe and in Canada. Bringing well-rounded knowledge and much experience to Eurospatial Communications, Jeff will act as editor of 3D Visualization World Magazine.
Roger Longhorn is well known globally throughout the geospatial and SDI communities and has served as editor of several spatially related publications. His focus is on spatial data infrastructures, information policy, standards and governance. Roger is editor of Spatial Data Infrastructure Magazine (SDI Magazine).
Both editors are well connected within broad spatial information communities across the globe, and the two publications are gaining visibility and impact, expanding rapidly in their coverage and audience.
“My observation is that 3D, particularly 3D GIS and 3D CAD, is going to expand at a very rapid rate in the future. 3D Visualization World Magazine aims to inject spatial knowledge, experience and technology into a wide range of fields, across all scales. 3D Design, data management, 3D spatial analysis and 3D visualization are all part of the evolution - one that will link a myriad of mobility technologies together,” Thurston said.
“Development of spatial data infrastructure (SDI) has evolved tremendously around the globe since introduction of the concept in the mid-1990s. Now, nearly two decades later, SDI implementation continues to face challenges amid the evolution of new methods of spatial data collection, processing and dissemination – calling for new thinking. SDI Magazine will continue to cover this rapidly changing scene, focusing on the challenges and success stories,” according to Longhorn.
Eurospatial Communications intends to bring the best of European spatial information knowledge and technologies to the world. Additionally, it will articulate spatial news, events, content and technologies from global locations within a European context. Both publications are wholly online with updated daily content and regular Newsletters. The company also provides experienced and knowledgeable analytical reporting of spatial issues and production services.
