April 25, 2012 - PRLog -- Surveys have shown that the majority of UK residents who took a holiday at home in 2011 had a great experience, and it was reported that 85% of holidaymakers said that the holiday was either ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’, was also value for money and rated highly, and most agreed that home is best.

This year in 2012 the figures are expected to be similar as in 2011, and the positive domestic holiday experience means that almost half expect they will take more domestic breaks than they used to before the recession.

Re-discovering the fantastic destinations on their doorstep research has revealed that 1.3 billion domestic day trips were taken in England last year; this of course clearly demonstrates that the British holidaymaker is increasingly inspired by the beauty of the UK and all it has to offer.

This can only be a good thing for British tourism, and it was revealed that over 104 million domestic overnight trips were taken in the UK last year, an increase of 9% compared to 2010 and still climbing, not forgetting the total spend that rose by 13% and represented almost £18billion.  This only goes to prove that the ‘staycation’ as it has come to be known is holding strong; also making a huge comeback is camping with preferred sites being either a campsite Devon or the same in Cornwall.

In 2011 there was an increase across the board for trips to towns, cities and the countryside which were all up by 14%, and trips to the seaside were also up by just over 11%.  There is no place more popular than the counties of Devon and Cornwall, which offers both countryside and wonderful sandy beaches.  Of course Cornwall caravan parks or a nice park in Devon are fast becoming the preferred option for holidaymakers around the UK.

Self catering has long been what families enjoy, especially when traveling with small children, the freedom it gives is second to none, no set meal times or rules and regulations of a guest house or hotel, you can come and go as you please, eat when you want, and of course there are plenty of campsites in Cornwall that afford the holidaymaker excellent types of accommodation.

The easy happy-go-lucky type of holiday that a caravan park Cornwall or camping facilities offer are the makings of a wonderful holiday spent by the sea, or if preferred use one of these parks as a base and travel around both Devon and Cornwall and check out the many tourists attractions available.

A spokesman for Wooda Farm holiday Park in Bude North Cornwall on the border with Devon said, “our location is perfect as a base for holidaymakers to tour around both counties, we have a lot to offer the holidaymaker, we have a variety of luxury holiday caravans situated within the park, that have adjacent parking facilities, it is a safe place for children to play, as you are right there supervising their time outdoors, of course both counties are renowned as holiday destinations and a Devon caravan park, is also a viable option, but we can guarantee the holidaymaker a wonderful time at Wooda”.

Home is definitely best if you are looking for value for money and all the ingredients that make a wonderful holiday.
