Good Samaritan is just what the “doctor” ordered for stiffed homeowners
Bill Davidson’s “prescription” was written and half paid for. But less than two weeks after making a deposit to have his attic insulated, he learned that the company he hired to do the work, was out of business. And he was out $1,200.
“I guess I was in the wrong place at the wrong time,” said Davidson, whose money had just escaped his bank account almost as fast as the warm air was escaping his Valley City, OH home.
Fortunately George Minello, president of Northcoast Energy Masters, Bedford, OH, heard about the plights of Davidson and about 40 other homeowners who had lost their deposits to HomeEnergyMD. He wanted to help.
“Northcoast came over at no charge and looked at what needed to be done,” Davidson recalled. “I was surprised when they said they could do the work for just the $1,200 balance that I would have paid HomeEnergyMD. Instead of losing the deposit I thought was long gone, I got all the work done for no more than what I had expected to pay in the first place.”
Northcoast sealed Davidson’s home with blown-in cellulose insulation designed to keep warm air inside during the winter and keep the cool air in during the summer. Davidson now enjoys a more comfortable home and lower energy bills.
“Northcoast did a great job,” Davidson said. “I have a Cape Cod style home, so it can be a tight fit in some places in the attic. They went out of their way to get to all of the hard to reach places. They did exactly what they said they said they were going to do and I couldn’t be happier.”
Minello is extending the same offer to any other homeowner who lost their deposit to HomeEnergyMD.
“If you were left hanging by the closure of Regency Windows or HomeEnergyMD Northcoast Energy Masters has you covered,” he said. “We will give you a discount equal to your Regency down payment. Why wait for a court settlement which may never come?”
Since 1983, Northcoast Energy Masters, a family-owned business located in Bedford, Ohio, has specialized in energy saving products like replacement windows, doors and blown-in insulation.
“Everything we install is value oriented,” Minello said. “We want to give you a dollar of value for every dollar you spend. The value is in lower energy bills. We specialize in products that are safe for the environment and safe for the homeowner while being very energy efficient.”
Northcoast is a certified contractor in Dominion Energy’s Home Energy Assessment rebate program. The program provides natural gas rebates to homeowners who schedule a Home Energy Assessment and make suggested improvements, like new windows, doors and insulation.
