National Scrapbooking Month Shines a Light On Local Craftspeople

April 23, 2012 - PRLog -- Ranchos de Taos, NM - - Scrapbookers in Ranchos de Taos, NM and beyond will take an opportunity during the month of May to showcase their talents and learn new techniques as they celebrate National Scrapbooking Month.

What was once thought of as a casual hobby has grown to become a popular art form.  Today, scrapbookers can be found in over 18 million U.S. households.    

But, why is scrapbooking so popular?  Like many things, it’s hard to understand why so many people devote so much time and energy to it… until you experience it yourself.  Scrapbooking provides an immediate creative outlet, as well as the knowledge you’re creating something long-term you can share with your family and future generations.  
And, if you create a scrapbook as a family, you are creating time to revisit family events.
Another reason for scrapbooking’s popularity is how easy it is to get involved… even if your time is limited.  And, with the advent of digital scrapbooking, you don’t need to feel limited by your own artistic abilities.
