By: Nage Restaurant Rehoboth Beach Rehoboth’s popular Bistro & Wine Bar Hosts Community Fundraiser to Support Local Children, April 29 “Cheers to the kids!” says Mark Harrison, General Manager of Nage Bistro & Wine Bar, referring to the restaurant’s 4th Annual Food Wine and Beer Festival 2012. “It’s absolutely one of our favorite events because the money we raise goes to support children who are at a critical stage in their growth and development.” Harrison points out that the event has expanded this year. “We’re overwhelmed, but not surprised, by our community’s support to help produce this important event. More than a dozen sponsors are joining us to make this a big night for our guests to experience all we have to offer.” says Mr. Harrison, producer for the event. Last year Nage, along with its event sponsors and event participants, raised over $4200 for the Lewes-based charity established in the 1930s. More than 80% of the proceeds go directly to support the many youth programs created by Children’s Beach House whose mission is to help Delaware's children with special needs reach their highest potential as functioning members of their families and communities. “This year marks our 75th Anniversary and we are so grateful to have the local business community celebrate and recognize our services in Sussex County and throughout the state," says Amanda Ryan, Director of Development of the CBH. "Our goal at CBH is to help our children build a set of core competencies that will assist them with their transition to young adulthood.” “Our entire Nage team is excited to make this a party celebration for our guests,” says Ted Deptula, Executive Chef. “We’ll be serving many of our most popular menu items. He is also quick to point out that over 50 wines, beers and spirits are included in the line-up, along with local craft beers. “And it’s not only food and drinks!,” says Deptula, who indicates that Nage guests will enjoy live acoustic music plus a silent auction, door prizes and raffled items along with “wine games” and a special chef’s demonstration. “We are very grateful for the outstanding generosity of Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s, our Grand Cru sponsor,” says Harrison. “And to Steven & Co., our Chardonnay Sponsor. Staff from this salon will be here to give relaxing hand massages as a special treat to our guests. “ We so are excited for the many auction and raffle donations,” adds Chrissy Sarro, Sales and marketing Associate Of Nage. “ It’s an amazing line-up of items that people will really want!” she adds. A beautiful framed print from one of our local Rehoboth artist's Alan Tuttle! Mr Tuttle has recently started a cool Exhibit called The Domiciles project, it is a new and innovative initiative to engage the community in an art conversation. Particularly, focused on youth, his project leverages doors painted by him to inspire various art forms. The output of this artistic endeavor would be writing compositions, videos, music, theater, and other visual and 3D art exhibitions developed by the students who participate in the project. Initially this project is targeted for schools in Southern Delaware, but the vision is to expand it nationally. 50 % of the proceeds from the sale of his print will go to the CBH the other 50% will go to The Domiciles Project!
