Follow on Google News | Holiday Home Owners Concerns For SpainIn a series of short surveys conducted by Almerimar Life, the expat blog & online community, holiday property owners were asked their opinion on a number of current issues relating to Spain, & how they were effecting their property income in 2012.
By: Almerimar Life The surveys covered the smoking ban, the number of flights to Spain and the likelihood of Spain requiring a bailout. With regards to the smoking ban the majority were in favour of the ban personally, and virtually all property owners don't allow smoking in their properties, but the majority also felt that it was bad for business and was putting people off from booking holidays in Spain. All respondents said they were dissatisfied with the number of flights to Spain this year, although very few thought that it was adversely effecting business with the view in general being that if the demand was there the airlines would provide more flights. By far the greatest concern for holiday property owners in Spain is the threat of a bailout. Interestingly the majority felt that Spain wouldn't require a bailout, but all respondents felt that the ongoing media coverage of the threat of a bailout was putting people off booking their holidays. "What is somewhat ironic" said Chris Marshall, owner of Almerimar Life, "is that it is the perceived rather than the actual that seems to be putting most people off. There are fewer flights, and the smoking ban remains in place, but it is the risk of something that most people don't think will happen, which is effecting business the most." http://almerimarlife.com/ End
