HOPE launched a Basic Health Unit in Sujawal with Citibank

In March, HOPE a health NGO in Pakistan opened a newly constructed Basic Health Unit in the improvised area of Sujawal . The area was affected by the rains & floods.

April 23, 2012 - PRLog -- In March, HOPE a health NGO in Pakistan, inaugurated a newly constructed Basic Health Unit in the improvised area of Sujawal. The area was badly affected by heavy rains and floods.

HOPE’s Basic Health Unit provides a number of services that is out-patient care, Ultrasound, Blood bank & Laboratory. HOPE has targeted vulnerable communities with poor health hygiene practices, difficult living conditions and lack of financial resources to treat their own ailments. The Basic Health Unit is located in an area where health services are limited and the local inhabitants have to travel far to receive basic medical care. The Basic Health Unit has the provision of hospital beds with facilities available for women and children. It is well equipped encompassing the needs of young and old alike.

Basic Health Unit also provided a safe birth center, maternal services and a labor room which  can handle deliveries with expertise. The local women had poor health facilities and were in dire need of a proper care facility which can address their health problems at the earliest. This Basic Health Unit was funded by Citibank. Ms. Saba Karim and Mr. Arif Usmani from Citibank have been coordinating with HOPE staff for the inauguration of this Basic Health Unit.
