April 21, 2012 - PRLog -- The Inventory Institute announces the appointment of Atlanta, Georgia business owner, Brett Baaten  as the Public Safety and Preparedness Liaison (PSPL) for Home Inventory Professionals around the country. As the PSPL, Brett  will work directly with America’s Home Inventory Professional community along with law enforcement, public safety, and preparedness organizations. He will share important facts, events, and information between the organizations and the community of Home Inventory Professionals in North America.

Brett was appointed to this unique position because of his strong history in law enforcement as well as his passion for all-things safety and preparedness.

In light of recent storms and tornadoes and in preparation of Home Inventory Awareness Month in May, along with the obvious need for a single source of preparedness information in the Home Inventory community, Brett will begin role as PSPL of The Inventory Institute immediately.

As a preparedness expert, Brett will be a featured presenter at the 2012 Home Inventory Professional’s conference in Jacksonville, Florida in October 2012. His presentation will focus on how Home Inventory Professionals can work with public safety officials and preparedness organizations to help American home and business owners be as protected, prepared, and as ready as possible.

Brett says, “I was privileged to gain first-hand, behind-the-scenes experience concerning the inner workings of the government during Hurricane Katrina, the 9/11 attacks, and the evolving border security strategy. I look forward to the role of PSPL and am eager to help educate consumers and promote the services provided by HIPs nationwide - there is a lot of information out there, and by working together, we can do our part to get the right information into the right hands and at the right time.”

Michelle Ketterman of The Inventory Institute says, “After just a few minutes with Brett, his passion for governmental affairs and Homeland Security became very apparent. He is a true asset to our entire profession. I am thrilled that Brett will keep Home Inventory Professionals informed and updated on these very important issues. We are very lucky to have Brett help us navigate through the maze of preparedness information and organizations. He will be the front line of information for HIPs.”

In early 2012 Brett Braaten founded Vanguard Inventory Professionals, a company dedicated to providing professional inventory services to home and business owners throughout the Southeastern United States. Whether for insurance claims, estate planning, or any other personal or professional use, an inventory is a key component in protecting your home or business, and ensuring that affairs are handled in the intended.

Brett spent nearly 30 years as a federal criminal investigator with the U.S. Customs Service and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) conducting criminal investigations and helping protect the American public from threats to its safety and security. Now as the president of Vanguard Inventory Professionals, he wants to help protect families, homes, and businesses through professionally prepared inventories that will be needed when least expected.
