-- Earlier this month, while college basketball teams was battling it out for the NCAA title, basketball fans at the Buick Center in New Orleans was participating in what was the world's largest game of knockout to ever be played. For those unfamiliar with the game, it's basically a basketball game where players line up behind the free throw line. And than the first player starts shooting and the other player starts shooting as well. If the 2nd shooter makes a shot before the first shooter, than the 1st shooter is knocked out.
This "cycle" continues until there is only one player remaining. There was a total of 422 participants and the winner was declared after a total of 116 minutes. The lucky winner won a cool $1,000 and tickets to the NCAA championship game. A Guinness World Records rep was in attendance and verified that is was indeed the largest knockout game. Also, during that same weekend, Buick and Samaritan’s Feet teamed up to donate more that five thousand pairs of shoes to kids in the local area.
