Johnson C. Smith University Signs Joshua Linson
Joshua Linson will join the Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University Men's Basketball program for the 2012-13 season.
Linson is a 6'1 shooting guard who plays for Head Coach Tony Taylor at Queen City Preparatory Academy in Charlotte, NC. He averaged 21 points and 6 assists this season. He currently holds a new record at Queen City Prep of Most 3-point shots made in a game in which he made 12-three point shots scoring 41 points in the 141-86 win over Barrington Prep on November 14, 2011. Queen City Prep finished the season 37-7 and the National Champs of the National Association of Christian Athletes (NACA) Elite Boys Division.
"I am very excited for Josh. He is an excellent and consistent shooter with a very high and strong academic profile. I am happy that Josh found a home, somewhere he can play college basketball, grow, and become a productive citizen. It is a major accomplishment when a kid can earn an athletic scholarship at a major university like Johnson C. Smith. He will have an opportunity to not only compete on the basketball floor, shooting that basketball as he does so well, but also compete in the business world because of the high academic standards that an education from Johnson C. Smith University will afford him," Coach Tony Taylor said.
"He is a shooter and we expect him to come in shooting and scoring and look forward to his addition to our 2012-13 roster," said Head Coach Steve Joyner, Jr.
