So your daughter or son just got engaged, congrats!  Now the hard part: finding that “wow” – yet appropriate – Mother-of-the-Bride or Groom attire to wear for the wedding.

Metro Denver boutique owner, Paula Mitchell, has been advising women on what to wear for weddings and social events for over 24 years.

Paula knows that mothers-of-the bride or grooms are in quite the dilemma when it comes to shopping and dressing for the wedding: “The wedding is often times only seen as a special time for the brides or grooms, but it’s also a very special event for the moms. Mothers-of-the-Bride or Groom want a very special dress or ensemble for the wedding but can be overwhelmed when shopping for just the right attire. I know that if the moms can get some good advice about how to shop for the wedding attire, the process can be much easier and less stressful.”

So, to help moms find the best wedding attire with less stress and more confidence, Paula Mitchell is now sharing the five must-know expert tips for moms to follow when shopping for their wedding outfits:

1.   Start early. 6-8 months before the wedding date.  This will allow you more options to choose from and allow extra time for alterations.

2.   Gather as much information as you can from the bride and or mother-of-the-bride (mother of-the-groom) such as the bridesmaid and flower colors, formal-ness of wedding venue, etc.

3.   Style and color. Does the bride have a specific color in mind for each mom? If you are going to wear a short dress, you'll need to select something that is dressier than what a guest may arrive in.  It's is actually easier to find something long and elegant that is appropriate.

4.   Get professional advice!  Your neighbor may be your BFF, but she may not be the best fashionista.

5.   Whatever you select, make sure you are comfortable.  Chances are you'll be in the ensemble for several hours.

If you’re in the Denver Metro area, Paula invites you to stop by and see her fabulous collection of Mother-of-the-Brides (and Grooms) dresses as well as her selection of special occasion attire. Bring your questions and leave your stress!

Paula’s Moms and Proms is located in the Cherry Hills Marketplace on the southeast corner of University Boulevard and Orchard Road.  You can also visit Paula at http://www.paulasspecialoccasion.com.
