April 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Waterford, ME – Summer is fast approaching and parents have one common goal: to find something fun, safe and meaningful for their kids to do.  The answer: Camp Waziyatah!

To put it simply, Camp Waziyatah does kids a lifetime of good. Affectionately known as ‘Wazi’, Camp Waziyatah has been fulfilling the summer dreams of parents and kids since 1922.  Located in Waterford Maine, and safely nestled within the beautiful Lakes Region is a delightful co-ed overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6 to 17. Wazi provides more than forty activities ranging from traditional camp experiences such as hiking, sailing, and horseback riding… to more modern undertakings like musical theater, hip-hop dance, rock climbing and “the blob”, a giant kid-launching water park inflatable in the lake.

Just some of the comments from campers > “All the people who don’t go to camp are 100% missing out. They’re just thinking it’s not gonna be fun, but they have no idea” said one camper. Another enthusiastically comments “You make so many friends you feel at home there. Don’t be worried about being homesick. You don’t even think about it, you’re having so much fun!”, yet another “It’s crazy because I was just there for four weeks and the people I met there, I feel like I’ve known them my whole life” and another “Seriously, it’s just the best place for anyone to spend their summer!” See more camper testimonials here > http://www.wazi.com/testimonials.html
Camp Waziyatah Directors (and brothers) Gregg and Mitch Parker live what they love. Originally from Miami, Florida and certified by the American Camping Association, they have dedicated their lives to the art of camping and providing an enriching environment for young people.  Actually, the day Gregg was born; his brothers boarded a bus for camp. Talk about doing what you are born to do!

“It’s almost impossible to explain how amazing camp is, or what it can do for kids. We hear time and again from parents that Wazi has made their kids more adventurous, self-confident, and even helped them get along better with their siblings! Our philosophy and programming are rooted in the “Core Values” of Courtesy, Integrity, Respect and Responsibility” said Camp Director Gregg Parker.  “Camp Waziyatah puts these values into action by teaching kids to respect themselves, their environment and all people, and to build a healthy sense of pride, honor and kindness.”

Understanding the beauty and charm of Camp Waziyatah, Disney executives chose this camp experience as the backdrop of the popular 1997 Disney Channel reality Show ‘Bug Juice’ … which focused on the once-in-a-lifetime summer of 20 talented teenagers.

Wazi is an extremely safe environment with caring, expert staff who make sure every child is making new friends, learning new things and having the time of their lives. With over 40 activities (none of which include texting and Facebook because cell phones are not allowed), there’s never a dull moment at ‘Wazi’, and campers have the chance to customizing their experience and choosing their own activities. Unlike other camps, at Wazi, activities don’t fill up and leave some kids out. Whatever activities kids choose at Camp Waziyatah, they always get.

With the first session starting June 24th, parents can now plan their ‘own’ summer full of fun, while the kids kick it up…..at  Wazi. Summer sessions are available in increments of two (2), four (4), six (6) or eight (8) week sessions. Register your kids today at www.wazi.com.
