Payton Wright Foundation to Benefit April 16-29

(April 16, 2012 - Sarasota, FL) – When you dine at Jason’s deli® between April 16 – 29 and donate $1 to the Payton Wright Foundation, you will receive a complimentary drink card for your next visit ($1.99 value), plus Jason’s deli of Southwest Florida will match each donation given to the cause.  The deli is located at 5231 University Parkway, in Sarasota.

The Payton Wright Foundation for pediatric brain cancer, headquartered in Lakewood Ranch, was founded in 2008 by Patrick and Holly Wright in memory of their daughter Payton who passed away at the age of 5 from brain cancer. The foundation is committed to raising awareness and funds for pediatric brain cancer research to find new treatments, as well as financially assisting families who are caring for a child with brain cancer.

“The tireless fight the Wright family gives to this important cause, pediatric brain cancer, is both heart wrenching and heartwarming,” says Diana Willis, Jason’s deli of Southwest Florida owner and operator.  “When you see all the good that comes from the help they give makes me pause and think we can give a little too.”

Jason’s deli is also supporting the foundation’s 4th Annual Golf tournament on May 4, please visit paytonwright.org for more information.

Parent’s Magazine recognized Jason’s deli last year as the #1 family restaurant chain in the nation. That award was based on an analysis of the food’s content, including: calories, fat, saturated fat and sodium. Editors then looked at the quality of the ingredients (such as whether organic milk or antibiotic–free chicken were offered), and conveniences like call-ahead seating, online ordering, crayons to keep the kids busy, and availability of high chairs and booster seats.

For Jason’s deli winning is attributed to quality ingredients, a fresh kids’ menu and a few innovative moves.  In 2009 Jason’s deli became the first national restaurant to ban high fructose corn syrup in its food.  Last year went a step further, eliminating artificial colors and dyes from its menu. The motivation for these changes started in the late 1990’s when Jason’s deli began researching the removal of artificial trans fats from the menu. “Our menu is truly healthy, for children and their parents,” Willis added.

In Sarasota, Jason’s deli is located at 5231 University Parkway.
