A two day event, the International Space App Challenge will be held on April 21-22, 2012 across all the seven continents – including Antarctica.
The Space App Challenge is modeled on the codeathon style, wherein the participants work to provide solutions for a social cause. Like every codeathon event, the Nasa Space App Challenge will see some of the brightest minds from different walks of life like software engineers, engineers, designers and techies participate to provide solutions to some of the most critical problems confronting the world today.
As a part of the Challenge, participants can develop mobile apps, software and hardware, data visualization, and platform solutions to contribute to space exploration missions and help improve life on earth.

The NASA International Space Apps Challenge aims to provide innovative solutions using minimal resources and maximum intellect. On 21-22 Apr teams from across the world will utilize publicly available data like forums, statistics and facts to design their solutions.
Some of the leading centers from where the groups will feature include Miami, New York, San Francisco, Vancouver, Montreal, Oxford, Lausanne, Stuttgart, Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Nairobi, Bangalore, Tokyo, Jakarta, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and McMurdo Station in Antarctica.
As the contest draws near, the participants are all geared to present some truly innovative and breakthrough ideas to help make the planet a better place.
