FDM Group supports Movember for another year

Nov. 9, 2012 - PRLog -- International IT services provider, FDM Group, is once again taking part in the biggest charity drive for men in the country, Movember.

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in the UK and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Last year, over £75 million was raised in the UK alone.

Official rules of Movember dictate that each “Mo Bro” must begin the 1st of November with a clean-shaven face. For the entire month each Mo Bro must grow and groom a moustache but there is to be no joining of sideburns and there’s to be no joining of the handlebars to the chin.

FDM Group’s CEO, Rod Flavell commented,  “At FDM we support various charities throughout the world, because we believe in giving something back to society. I encourage employees to get involved in causes that are close to their heart and I am delighted to see so many FDM employees taking part in Movember.”

FDM participates in many charitable activities in its office locations worldwide. This year alone, FDM has taken part in Cancer Research’s Race For Life in Brighton, JP Morgan Chase and Co’s Corporate Challenge in Frankfurt and numerous Wall Street Rocks For The Veterans’ charity events in New York, to name a few.

Over the last 40 years, prostate cancer rates in Great Britain have tripled and it is now a quarter of all new cases of cancers diagnosed, making it the most common form of cancer of men in the UK.
