Bay Area Ambassadors Head Back to Sacramento

Ambassadors to face Sacramento in rematch of NPSL Qualfier match.
April 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Oakland, CA (April16, 2012)- The Bay Area Ambassadors (Ambassadors) will play the Sacramento Gold (Gold) this weekend. The match will be played in Sacramento at River City High School Sunday April 22nd, at 7:00 p.m.

The Ambassadors and Gold met in the final round of Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup qualifying three weeks ago. The Ambassadors defeated the Gold in a thrilling game that was decided by penalty kicks. Despite the late onset of rain that bombarded River City High School, both teams fought to the end of regulation.  Brayan Walle scored the only goal of the game for the Ambassadors.  When both sides went to penalties, both teams went back and forth but as the sixth penalty taker, Amine Albalil sealed the victory when he smoothly found the back of the net and helped place one foot in the 2012 US Open Cup tournament.

The Ambassadors are continuing to build on their success after reaching the play in game for the Lamar Hun U.S. Open Cup. They will play on April 28th for their final step into the tournament.  In their last game, the Ambassadors had strong performances by Yousef Samy, Javier Hill, and new addition Raymond Lind in a tie against the Sonoma Sol.

Please come support the Ambassadors in this weekend. Look for updates on the
Ambassadors’ website ( and Twitter (@baafc).
