First District 4 Toastmasters Speech Contest for Youth Leaders

District 4 Toastmasters is actively engaged with the development of leadership skills in young people through programs designed for Youth Leadership.

April 18, 2012 - PRLog -- First District 4 Toastmasters Speech Contest for Youth Leaders


(Sunnyvale, CA, USA, April 19, 2012) – The Toastmasters Youth Leadership Program (YLP) helps young people build their communication and leadership skills so that they may become tomorrow’s leaders in business, industry and the community. As part of this initiative District 4 Toastmasters will conduct its first speech contest for Youth Leaders who previously participated in a YLP sponsored by District 4.

The YLP speech contest will be held on May 5, 2012 at Yahoo! Sunnyvale and is hosted by District 4 and Yahoo’s Toastmasters club, Yahoo! Yapsters. The speech contest will be conducted by Sharon Corgile, DTM, District 4 Youth Leadership Director, Hemang Shah, ACB, ALB, Division C Governor and Rita Barber, DTM, District 4 Lt. Governor Marketing. Several contestants are expected to compete at two different age levels.

In another first, Youth Leaders participated in a taping of the District 4 Toastmasters Bay to Bay cable access program and demonstrated skills they acquired. The show can be viewed online at www.d4tm.org/Newsroom/bay2bay.php
