By: World Healing Day HOWEVER, World Healing Day offers so much more. World Healing Day organizers observed that according to the Global Consciousness Project's research, human consciousness physically affects the world, as evidenced by the GCP's random event generators around the planet. But, these events were mostly global tragedies such as Princess Diana's death, 9/11's attacks, etc. World Healing Day organizers wondered "How would the world be affected if human consciousness were focused en masse on personal and global health & healing during a 24 hour period. The physical impact of mind-body practices goes beyond just "random event generators" used by the GCP project. Research by the TM Foundation discovered in an early 90's study that a very small percentage of meditators harmonizing their consciousness through meditative practice actually lowered the crime rate for the entire city, meaning that the calm meditators create in themselves may be affecting those around them in positive ways. This resonated with the Founder of World Healing Day, Bill Douglas, who while doing a Tai Chi Meditation presentation at Folsom Maximum Security Prison, discovered that Folsom's Qigong Meditation program which had been going on for a couple of years had shown similar results, causing an improvement in behavior of the entire Folsom population, not just the Qigong or Tai Chi Chih participants. Here's what is known scientifically: * In America 70 to 85% of illness is caused by unmanaged stress * Mind-body tools are powerful stress reducers * This adds up to trillions in future health cost savings IF these tools are massively taught throughout global society * Collectives of consciousness can physically affect the world. * Meditation can cause that affect to be a positive one * According to recent research planet Earth's humanity is less violent today than at any time in human history, which is saying alot because we have nearly quadrupled the planet's population in one generation. With less resources you'd think people would be more violent, but the opposite is happening. Could it be because meditative mind-body techniques are being practiced worldwide and spreading more each year?
