Infosys captures Heritians- This time the number is 357

April 17, 2012 - PRLog -- “We are running in a different speed but we are getting the same place”, remarked Mr. Tanvir Singh, Regional Recruitment Lead, Infosys at Heritage Institute of Technology on 17th April 2012 in an interactive session with the prospective Infosycians of the institute. This year Infosys had issued offer letters to 357 students from Heritage (subjected to clearance of Infosys training programme) which is the most promising figure in this part of India. Inspiring the tech graduates, Mr Tanvir gave the example of China where 95 % of the population is average and above average in talent which is making it a lucrative country for IT recruitments. In India, the number is 80% but then Indian students have to improve their attitude from a casual attitude to a culture of excellence. They need to be more proactive. That’s why in the rat race of competition in recruitments of talent, Indians are moving in a super turbo speed but landing up in the same place.

“2 things are different in Infosys training programme- one is getting 5 out of 5 and other one is failing to qualify in it,” said Mr Tanvir in the session. Describing about the training programme, Mr. Tanvir Singh spoke that this programme is imperial for all recruited candidates at Infosys where a special stress is given to non Computer Science and IT engineering graduates to build the basic foundation. For Computer Science and IT engineering graduates, tailor-made refresher course is there to make them expert in their IT skills with different application of technologies. Moreover special training courses are there in soft skills, leadership skills and Total Quality Management. The training programme will be conducted in the Mysore campus of Infosys which is equipped with world-class facilities to hone the skills of young tech graduates.

Campus recruitment by Infosys at Heritage had been very much encouraging where in the year 2009 Infosys recruited 124 students followed by the year 2010 with 123 students. This year the numbers have increased to 357 making it a benchmark of success at Heritage. Speaking with the academic advisor, Mr Clayton Moses, he said,” Final placements in such companies depend upon the quality of students and Heritage had been providing excellent quality of tech graduates from the inception for which Infosys recalls our name when it comes to campus recruitments from private tech institutes in Bengal.” Various queries were asked by the students to Mr. Tanvir during the session like requirement of passports well in advance, the type of technologies in which they would be working and many more. “We will try to put you in those streams of technology which is having a requirement at present and currently there are immense requirements in technologies like DOT NET, ANDROID, BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE, JAVA, ORACLE and MOBILE applications.” Apart from this, Mr. Tanvir gave the descriptions of some world class products which Infosys had made like the money transfer facility recently launched by Airtel and also the core banking software “Finacle” produced by Infosys for commercial banks and financial institutions. “It took 90 days to get clearance from the government for setting up a campus in Bhubansehwar for us but for nearly 4 years we are trying hard to establish a campus in Bengal,” said Mr Tanvir. Probably this is the imbalanced growth which is happening in India and then still miles to go for India towards economic prosperity.
