VFS Global also provides similar services for the Japanese Embassy in Thailand.
H E Mr Akitaka Saiki, Ambassador of Japan to India conveyed his message on the occasion - “It is my great pleasure to announce the opening of the Japanese Visa Application Centre (JVAC) by VFS Global. It is my sincere hope that with the JVAC, it will become more convenient for all travellers from India to visit Japan. In the year 2012, Japan and India celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of their bilateral ties. It is an opportune time to announce the opening of the visa centre in this commemorative year, since the visa centre will facilitate more Indian tourists, business travellers and others to visit Japan.
Japan is proud of its long history. Japan’s rich culture, beautiful scenic cities, and delicious food and beverages are enjoyed by tourists from all over the world. But above all, the warm hospitality of the Japanese people will be the most memorable experience during your visit to Japan. Today, 15 million people in India travel overseas, and it is expected that the number will grow up to 50 million by the year 2020. Japan truly hopes more Indian people visit the country. The Japanese government has designated India as one of the focal countries in its ‘Visit Japan Campaign’. With the opening of JVAC by VFS Global, I sincerely hope that your trip to Japan will be more convenient and accessible. I hope that more people from India visit Japan, thereby, facilitating mutual exchanges and understanding between the two countries.”
Upbeat about this association, Mr Vishal Jairath, Regional Head - South Asia, VFS Global said, “It is our privilege to partner and provide services to the Embassy of Japan in India and facilitate visa application process for Indian residents. We are committed to providing highly efficient and convenient services to all visa applicants applying for Japan visas in the country. VFS Global has been privileged to be associated with the Embassy of Japan in Thailand since 2010, and provides similar services in Bangkok and parts of Thailand. This extension of our association with the Government of Japan reflects their faith in our abilities, and we are sure this will go a long way in forging a longstanding partnership between Japanese Government and VFS Global”.
India’s steady growth in economy as well as direct trade and bilateral ties with Japan and other Asian countries has been augmented by improved air-connectivity and enhanced economic collaborations. This has contributed to increase in passenger traffic over the past few years significantly, boosting tourism, business as well as education and prompting the need for extension of visa services to manage these growing needs of travellers.
