National Heritage Academies Makes the Dream of a Private School Education a Reality

April 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Each year, National Heritage Academies (NHA) helps thousands of young students receive a top-notch education and prepare for a successful academic career after middle school. A new NHA program, launched in March 2012, will give these students the opportunity to compete for an even bigger reward.

In partnership with International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. (ISTS), NHA established the CollegeBound Scholarship, a new program that will award two eighth-grade students currently enrolled at a NHA school with a full-ride scholarship to the private high school of their choice. Applicants will be judged based on their financial need, community involvement, academic achievement and responses to three essay questions. NHA plans to announce the winners on May 1.

“National Heritage Academies is committed to preparing every student for college opportunity,” said Tari Reinink, NHA’s Chief Marketing Officer. “This is the primary reason we introduced the CollegeBound Scholars (CBS) program, which seeks to work closely with middle school students and their families to ensure they are equipped for success in both high school and college.”

The CollegeBound Scholarship is one component of the CBS program; other elements include high school guidebooks, local college tours and visits to Ivy League campuses. NHA has identified several opportunities for expansion of the scholarship program, including the addition of college scholarships and a scholarship fund for each NHA school.

In collaboration with NHA, ISTS developed an online scholarship application for the program which allows students to easily upload their academic information and essay responses. ISTS provides full-service management for NHA, including application processing, verification of applicant enrollment at a NHA school, winner selection, funds disbursement and applicant support.

“When we decided to create a scholarship program in conjunction with CBS we thought it best to outsource the scholarship process to facilitate its growth in the future, while guaranteeing it would be fair and equitable for all families and students applying. We identified ISTS as the right partner in this effort,” Reinink said.
