April 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Karen Ellis, HHC, whole and raw food chef, certified nutritionist, and owner of Healthy Attraction LLC in Southbury, will host a workshop on Saturday, April 28 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at her kitchen studio storefront at 33 Bullet Hill Road to teach attendees how to easily prepare healthy whole and raw food dishes. During her interactive workshop on “Preparing Whole and Raw Foods for Perfect Health”, Ellis will demonstrate in her storefront kitchen how to prepare dishes that range from cashew dips to lasagna to raw food smoothies. “My ambition is to help people understand the power of food.” Toward that goal she will also provide workshop attendees with time-saving tips on food and recipe preparation.

“This workshop is designed to help people learn about how to adopt raw foods into their lives,” explained Ellis, “whether they want to eat raw foods every day, 80% of their daily lives, or if they currently eat raw foods and want new ideas or have questions. My ambition will be to help everyone understand the healthy power of food while they sample delicious, organic and highly nutritious meals made from organic fruits, vegetable, nuts and seeds.”

Owner of Healthy Attraction LLC, the nutritional consultation office, health food store and instructional kitchen located at 32 Bullet Hill Road, Suite 202 in Southbury since June of 2011, Ellis shows her clients how they can prepare healthy foods in short periods of time. “A typical 70 minute session includes food preparation instruction and educating my clients on understanding how food can make them healthier, plus create recipes and menus for their specific health needs and goals.”

Like Healthy Attraction LLC’s clients, attendees to the April 28 workshop will gain insights into the ease of preparing both whole and raw foods on a daily basis and how to create menus with support from Ellis. “Every person’s health needs are unique,” stated Ellis. “In the workshop, my ambition will be to give participants an opportunity to learn how they can prepare very simple, delicious, fresh food dishes in their own homes.”

A certified chef from the Lincoln Culinary School, Ellis is also a certified nutritionist, certified holistic health coach, and she obtained her B.S degree in psychology from the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) in 2011. “Food and emotions go hand-in-hand,” commented Ellis. “Too often people eat excessively out of emotional discomfort. When they gain knowledge about how to easily prepare foods that are organically healthy for their bodies, they become emotionally and spiritually healthy as well. Eating healthy foods on a daily, weekly basis brings more balance into every aspect of an individual’s life and their family members as well.”

Healthy Attraction LLC offers a soothing, nurturing environment in which to learn. Ellis has created a relaxed atmosphere in which she can work one-on-one with her clients to discuss their health needs and foods that would best serve their health needs. “My background as a chef, nutritionist, and psychology graduate all offer me insights into how I can help people enjoy their lives pain and illness-free and with great joy, energy and enthusiasm.”

Mother of two teenage boys, Ellis has had very personal experience around food, both physical and emotional pain, and how to ‘turn that around’. At the young age of 35 she suffered a stroke as the result of taking diet pills. She explained, “I had been a yo-yo dieter for many years. After my stroke, I knew I needed to take control of my life and overcome my emotionally-dependent eating habits.” Ellis began studying nutrition and learned how to create nutrient-dense meals to heal her body. “The results were profound and people kept asking me how I did it, so I created a unique niche.”

Seating for the April 28 workshop at Karen Ellis’ Healthy Attraction LLC kitchen studio storefront at 33 Bullet Hill Road, Suite 202 is limited to 25 participants. Fee for the workshop is $50/person. A second “Go Raw!” workshop will be offered on Saturday, May 19 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Reservations are needed and can be made by calling Karen Ellis at 203-437-5140 or by emailing her at karen@healthyattractionllc.com. To learn more, visit www.healthyattractionllc.com.
