| Miss South Carolina United States 2012 - Chelsea Gregory Has a BallMiss South Carolina United States 2012, Chelsea Gregory, had a ball literally as she emceed the Southern Paradise Ball hosted by Planet Ballroom in Charlotte, NC.
By: S J Boykan Over 250 heats were performed, many with more than 3 couples dancing at a time. A buffet lunch was served by the Ritz Carlton as dancers and spectators alike rested before beginning the afternoon dance heats in latin dances. At 6:30 a cocktail and hors de vours reception preceeded a sit down dinner complete with a live band and dancing for everyone. After dinner, the championship competition began with some of the best dancers and their instructors in the Southeast competing for top prize. A special treat before the awards ceremonies came from a performance by Elizabeth Malvasia and Mayo Alanen who showed off world class dancing to two numbers including Singing in the Rain. The couple's dancing was nothing less than the caliber of performance you would see on ABC television's Dancing with the Stars. Miss Gregory served along side Elizabeth Malvasia in 2011 as Miss South Carolina International and Mrs. South Carolina International 2011 respectively. She spent the day acting as emcee and then enjoyed the evening appearing as Miss South Carolina United States 2012. Ballroom dancing is becoming a very popular activity for people of every age.
