April 15, 2012 - PRLog -- In October of 2011 Tasha Zimich, a student graduating Simon Fraser University’s School for Contemporary Arts Visual Art Program, took on a long-time dream of illustrating and self-producing her own graphic arts books. Thanks to Crowdsourced Funding Tasha achieved and exceeded her 1600$ funding goal through www.indiegogo.com/A-Gorey-Demise-Storybook

The success of her Crowdsouced Funding Campaign allowed for the production of her Graduate Exhibition piece, A Gorey Demise Storybook, to be actualized and exhibited at Audain Gallery’s “I flux” 2012 BFA Graduating Exhibition. Opening the evening of Friday the 13th, the gallery filled to capacity with patrons, who had the opportunity to engage with and experience Tasha’s Multi-Media installation.

The installation featured a printed copy of the graphic arts book bound in hardcover, interactive computer station with project websites, and project-specific sculptural pieces. Giveaway cards printed with A Gorey Demise Storybook e-book URL were provided, and readily accepted, adding to a growing count of online e-book project interactions.

Tasha’s student works have proven to reach beyond the boundaries of the classroom, and engage others on many different levels. As an emerging artist she is cultivating a practice in customizing designer vinyl toys and sculpture, and has become a repeat content contributor to top vinyl art & culture news circles such as spankystokes.com and toysrevil.com , and exhibited internationally through Disney Play Imaginative Mickey Mouse Showcase 2012 and Arizona-based Rusted Nail Gallery ‘I Heart Munny’ Kidrobot Tribute show.

A Gorey Demise Storybook could not have been actualized and successfully completed without the support, sponsorships and contributions made in part by;
