April 13, 2012 - PRLog -- April 13th: Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Dr.Manmohan Singh unveiled the grand spectrum of Silver jubilee celebrations of diverse cultural art, Heritage and traditions with theme base “Maati Ke Rang” depicted through the seven Zonal Cultural Centres at the Parade Ground Sector 5 Panchkula, the main hub of cultural activities of all Four days long celebrations from 13th -16th April 2012.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Chairperson, National Advisory Council Smt. Sonia Gandhi, alongwith  Hon’ble Minister of Culture and Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation , Kumari Selja.Sh Pawan Bansal ,Union Minister.  Excellencies the Governor of Punjab and Rajasthan Sh Shivraj V.Patil ; Sh.B.L. Joshi , Governor of Uttar Pradesh; Sh.Devanand Kanwar Governor of Bihar were also present at the inaugural with other dignitaries coming across the country .Sh. Bhupinder Singh Hooda , the Chief Minister of the Host State Haryana was also there on the dais with the Prime Minister.

At the inaugural ceremony, the Prime Minister and the other dignitaries emphasised that it is through the rich cultural heritage that people get connected throughout the country and needs to be preserved for new generations also. The contribution of the late.Rajiv Gandhi former Prime Minister of India was highly lauded to continue and highlight the rich heritage and cultural tradition through the seven Zonal Cultural Centres.

The programme was followed by a Choreographed folk Dance presentation showcasing India as a multi-cultural country but with an element of nature running through the country as the commonality in all communities of India. The shows took the audience through a journey through the diverse landscape of India and highlight the endeavour of the seven Zonal Cultural Centres in bringing unity through culture. It is here that the Ministry of Culture through its Seven cultural centres have showcased art and other forms of all states and Union Territories of the country.

The highlight of the evening was the Choreographed glittering colourful performances by hundreds of artists showcasing more than 300 art forms before the galaxy of high dignitaries who had specially come to attend the commencement of the 25th anniversary celebrations in Panchkula .The performances by artists across all States and Union Territories showcased highly skilled folk dances. The special feature was the tribal dances from various ethnic and traditional communities, which weaved together as a one hour ending show, Keeping in mind the cultural identities of each group entered the performance stage one after another with rhythm creating one cultural palette weaved together as tapestry.

The performances given by artists on the main stage during the inaugural session were highly appreciated by the audience-The singing and musical performances like Lambadi from Andhra Pradesh, performances included Thumchum from jammu & kashmir, vanjali from haryana, Jugni from Punjab, Baul from West Bengal, margamkali from Kerela, lambadi from Andhra Pradesh, kajari from Uttar Pradesh, tati from Nagaland, Chhapeli from Uttarakhand, Langa Mangniar from Rajasthan,.Whereas the dances Kalbelia of Rajasthan, Sidhi were main attraction of the evening apart from Pung Cholam from Manipur, Jebro from Jammu & Kashmir, Lahauli from Himachal Pradesh, Jhoomar from Punjab, Dhangari Gaza from Maharashtra, machhi from Daman, bro Zai Arunanchal Pradesh, Nicobarese from Andman Nicobra islands, Kalbelia from Rajasthan, Mewasi from Gujarat,Gotipua from Odisha, Theyyam from kerela, Gidha from Punjab, Kavadi Karagam from Tamil Nadu, Bihu from assam, Singhi Chham from Sikkim,Brij Ras from U.P, Dandia Ras from Gujarat, Purulia Chhau from West Bengal,Songi Mukhavte from Maharashtra, Bohada from Dadra & Nagae Haveli, Lambadi from andhra Pradesh, Ka Shad Mastieh from Meghalaya, Kud from Jammu & Kashmir, Gadli Korku from Madhya Pradesh, Guruwara Kunitha from Karnataka, Ghoomar from Haryana, Solakia from Mizoram, Sangrai Mog from Tripura, Margamkali from Kerela, Dhedia from Uttar Pradesh, Gaur Madia from Chattisgarh, ,Jhaijia from Bihar, Ngada Rhma from Nagaland , Ghode Modeni from Goa, Paika from Jharkhand, Chhapeli from Uttarakhand, Bhangra from Punjab and Siddhi Dhamal from Gujarat.It was followed by Folk instrument ensemble.

The Aangans of each ZCC will be opened to the public tomorrow. The 7 aangans will showcase the rich traditional crafts of each state of the country and craftsmen will give live demonstration and also sell their products. Live folk dance and music will be showcase in each aangans. There will be exhibitions of folk arts, paintings and food court from all the zones.

The four day long Silver Jubilee celebrations shall propagate the sheer diversity and great cultural traditions of India which connects the people. The Zonal Cultural Centres had been set up as conceptualised by the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi to propagate the cultural art and forms pertaining to all regions and zones of the Counter and today India is proud of the Zonal  Cultural Centres who have put rich Heritage and tradition on a common platform.
