April 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Mahwah, NJ, April 27, 2012 — A workshop presented by Sage Day Middle School for child study teams, professionals, therapists and parents from 1:00 to 3:00pm.

Dr. Gabriel Kaplan, MD and Dr. Bennett Silver, MD will present the latest developments in psychopharmacology and therapeutic interventions in treating middle school and high school students. Topics covered will include: diagnostic considerations and work up, pharmacology of ADHD, and comprehensive psychosocial approaches including coaching and tutoring. Participants will leave with a better understanding of treatment options for ADHD and how an integrated approach to intervention provides the optimal way to manage ADHD and lead to success in academic and social functioning.

Dr. Kaplan is a Board Certified Adult and Child psychiatrist, a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and has published work in the fields of suicide, aggression, affective disorders, autism, and ADHD. A Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at UMDNJ, Dr. Kaplan is well known in the medical education field, having chaired multiple courses and symposia at national and international meetings

Dr. Silver a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology is one of New Jersey's noted child and adolescent psychiatrists with thirty years of experience. He is the co-founder and co-director of one of the largest multidisciplinary psychiatric practices in New Jersey. A frequent speaker to community and professional organizations, Dr. Silver has been a consultant to numerous school districts and child study teams throughout New Jersey.

Sage Day is a private, accredited, therapeutic school in Northern, NJ for students in grades 5 through 12 who need a different learning environment.  Sage offers three campuses: Mahwah Middle School, Boonton High School and Rochelle Park High School.
