Made in USA Sales in the Tank?
Many "Made in USA" manufacturers are not aware how easy it is to sell to Canada. It's simple, fast and inexpensive. Not selling to Canada is like not selling to California.
Doing Business in Canada Made Easy.
“Canada buys more from the USA than the entire EU.” Gary Doer – Canadian Ambassador to the USA.
Toronto, ON (April 12, 2012) – Consumer Products, MD, www.cpmd.ca announced today that most small and medium sized US manufacturers do not realize how simple and fast it is to do business in Canada.
Canada is much more than our polite and friendly neighbors to the north best known for hockey, snow, potent beer and that delicious concoction called poutine. For many years the USA and Canada shared the distinction of being the world’s largest trading partners. In 2012 the US and Canada will swap goods valued at $455 - 460B+ (source: Statistics Canada). Backed by world class banking and a strong economy, Canadians are hungrier than ever for US made goods and, thanks to NAFTA, selling to Canada is now much easier.
“Most Made in USA manufacturers we speak with still think that doing business in Canada requires a large capital investment, a bricks and mortar physical location and takes years to develop. The reality today is most US producers can be doing business in Canada very quickly, very inexpensively and without adding any internal resources. We have clients that have received purchase orders within a month of getting started. Not selling to Canada is like not selling to California.”
The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is the framework for managing the largest trading relationship in history with trillions of dollars (source NAFTA) in USA and Canada trade. NAFTA is also on track to meet their mandate of eliminating the majority of duties and taxes on USA, Canadian and Mexican made goods flowing across our borders. NAFTA has also created programs that simplify and speed up the selling process for US companies wanting a chunk of the large Canadian market. Like any international agreement NAFTA has its hooks and you need to play by the rules but the rules are surprisingly simple and straightforward.
