By: Give Us Names Give Us Names is a media-based non-profit organization working to restore home to displaced Colombians. Last year they released the documentary Leaving La Floresta, chronicling the forced displacement of one Colombian family as a direct result of U.S. anti-narcotics policy. They raised funds, and in partnership with Colombian farmers’ organizations, resettled the family into a farming community. Give Us Names will be taking part in Days of Prayer and Action for Colombia, an event aimed at raising awareness about the role that U.S. policy has played in Colombian displacement. This event will be held the weekend of April 14th-16th in Washington D.C. Visit http://www.giveusnames.org for more information.
