Advertisers on "The Client List" turn support to protest

NATIONWIDE: National advertisers just as upset about the content of The Client List and have pulled their advertising from the show in support of the Massage Therapists Against The Client List protest.
April 11, 2012 - PRLog -- Many national advertisers expressed that they did not advertise on The Client List by choice and were just placed there in a form of rotation.

Advertisers like Kelloggs, Green Giant and Tempur-Pedic, when approached by the Massage Therapists Against The Client List protesters, agreed that the show is not in-line with their advertising message and have assured the group that they will not advertise further on the show.

The Client List is a new series that first aired on April 8th on Lifetime Television. It perpetuates the misconception that Massage Therapy includes inappropriate sexual contact. Massage Therapists are trained healthcare professionals and in 38 states (and D.C.) are licensed and regulated by state medical boards. They adhere to a code of ethics and in some cases are under higher ethical standards than other healthcare professionals - because of these very same misconceptions. Many therapists work in doctor's offices and hospitals and are providing valuable therapeutic services. The Client List is a huge step backwards to days of “Massage Parlors”.

Over 10,000 Professional Massage Therapists have signed petitions committing themselves and their clients to boycott any advertiser that continues to advertise on The Client List.
