By: D. Marian Veteran indie filmmaker Greg Pitts, also an accomplished photographer and painter, incorporated elements of his vision of the struggles of those involved in the arts. When interviewed regarding his film, Mr. Pitts stated " it was a story that had been in my head since 2008. I wanted to challenge myself by telling a story rife with emotion without using any dialogue. I wrote the script but I didn't have all the elements to make it happen. Although the script was complete, I just couldn't get the story out of my head." With the help of his son, executive producer Lamar Pitts, who is the creator of his own YouTube Channel-Lamar Pitts TV, his story went from concept to reality. "Lamar became insistent on the project coming to fruition. He strongly suggested that he and I do the project ourselves. At that point, I challenged him to come up with everything an executive producer provides to make the film happen. To my surprise, after several months he was ready to go into production." Lamar procured the services of music producer "Steazy Steaz" for help with the soundtrack. The final project is a haunting 22-minute short film that leaves its viewers breathless. The film will screen on Monday April 16th at 9:00 p.m. during the Shorts program and again on Wednesday April 18th at 4:00 p.m. The festival is being held at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center, 104 17th Ave S., Seattle WA 98144. The festival contact phone number is 206-684-4758. http://www.youtube.com/ End
