April 11, 2012 - PRLog -- The Wisconsin Philharmonic closes its 2011-2012 season with Une Grande Finale, Sunday, May 6, 3:00pm at Shattuck Auditorium on the campus of Carroll University in Waukesha. The fiery, Spanish clarinetist Jose Franch-Ballester makes his first appearance with The Philharmonic, performing Debussy’s Premiere Rhapsodie and the Clarinet Concerto of Aaron Copland.

The afternoon concludes with a “Symphony” of themes inspired by Spanish folk music from the Basque master Maurice Ravel. The season ends in grand fashion as we perform one of the masterpieces of the classical repertoire, the Bolero, with student Shining Stars Scholarship competitors performing alongside Philharmonic musicians.

Attendees are asked to please bring nonperishable food items for donation to the Food Pantry of Waukesha County as The Wisconsin Philharmonic partners with the League of American Orchestras in giving back and building strong communities.

Tickets are available by calling 262-781-9520.  Visit www.wisconsinphilharmonic.org for more details.  The Wisconsin Philharmonic thanks its generous concert sponsor, the United Performing Arts Fund. Mr. Franch-Ballester’s performance is supported by The Wisconsin Philharmonic’s James & Dorothy Goff Frisch Endowment Fund.
