The Wisconsin Philharmonic Presents Une Grande Finale: From France to Spain

April 11, 2012 - PRLog -- The Wisconsin Philharmonic closes its 2011-2012 season with Une Grande Finale, Sunday, May 6, 3:00pm at Shattuck Auditorium on the campus of Carroll University in Waukesha. The fiery, Spanish clarinetist Jose Franch-Ballester makes his first appearance with The Philharmonic, performing Debussy’s Premiere Rhapsodie and the Clarinet Concerto of Aaron Copland.

The afternoon concludes with a “Symphony” of themes inspired by Spanish folk music from the Basque master Maurice Ravel. The season ends in grand fashion as we perform one of the masterpieces of the classical repertoire, the Bolero, with student Shining Stars Scholarship competitors performing alongside Philharmonic musicians.

Attendees are asked to please bring nonperishable food items for donation to the Food Pantry of Waukesha County as The Wisconsin Philharmonic partners with the League of American Orchestras in giving back and building strong communities.

The Wisconsin Philharmonic has dedicated over 60 years to bringing exceptional symphonic music and cultural experiences to Waukesha County and surrounding communities.
