OMEGA POWER GROUP Announces 35 Year Waste-to-Energy Agreement with Federal Republic of Nigeria

Omega Power Group, LLC a clean, green and renewable energy company based in Washington, DC proudly announces the final stages of a 35 year, 9.1 Billion dollar agreement to provide waste to energy services to 36 regions in the Federal Republic of Nigeria including the city of Abuja.

The public-private partnership will combine Omega Power Group and its subsidiary Omega Renewable Energy and Power Nigeria Limited’s (OREP) renewable energy project experience with the cutting edge gasification model of Pyrolyzer to build and operate 37 unique 35-year Waste to Energy projects throughout the country.  The project includes the use of local builders and contractors to build the facilities, importation of WTE experts from the United States and United Kingdom to manage the plants and partnerships with local Universities to train citizens to ultimately take over the facilities.

“This is the ideal collaboration between two great organizations to provide much needed alternative energy solutions to the Federal Republic of Nigeria” says Omega CEO C. Gerald Jones-Oguzie, “and with the current energy crisis and subsequent strikes in Nigeria, there is no better time to implement these solutions”.

Final agreements are scheduled for ratification in late April 2012 with projects scheduled to break ground in four phases starting October 2012.
