Technology Conservation Group, Inc. to Award Scholarships on Local Television Program

April 11, 2012 - PRLog -- TCG Community Outreach will present scholarships to the three Citrus County high school students scoring the highest in an essay contest.  The award prizes are $1,500.00 for 1st place, $1,000.00 for 2nd place, and $750.00 for 3rd place.  An award of $500.00 will also be paid to the science department of the 1st place winner’s high school.  

In addition to the annual scholarships, three cash prizes of $400.00, $250.00 and $100.00 will be awarded to winners of an art contest for the creative use of recycled materials. The art department of the 1st place winner’s school will also receive an award of $500.00.

Presentations to the winners of each contest will be made on Chamber Chat, a local television program presented by the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce, airing Monday, April 16th at 6:00pm on Bright House Networks Channel 16.

Technology Conservation Group, In an effort to encourage the public to recycle and raise awareness of the harmful materials that end up in landfills when electronics are disposed of improperly, will visit schools to educate children, hold facility tours for local schools and offer an annual college scholarship.
