April 11, 2012 - PRLog -- Facebook continues to be a key focus of a brand’s marketing strategy due to the continued success of the use of Facebook on product sales. As a result, Facebook has developed premium advertising services and is actively promoting these to marketers. The new premium advertising formats guarantee the number of your fans that your online content will reach; this new method means that brands can get their message across to more of their fans. It is likely that these big name brands will be looking to hire new staff to fill online marketing jobs in order to support their online marketing strategies.

On average, only 16% of a brand’s fans actually see any one of their Facebook posts. The new advertising service, known as their “Reach Generator” format, can guarantee that this figure will be increased to 75% if they pay the service’s fixed fee. Facebook has reported that recent big brand stories posted using the Reach Generator have been very successful, claiming that O2 posted a sponsored story on their page which was seen by around 78% of their fans.

This new format highlights that a benefit of using Facebook as part of a marketing strategy is to engage with your customers in a way that improves brand presence and customer loyalty. To do this effectively brands need to create a two way interaction with their fans through engaging Facebook posts by asking questions or “fill in the blank” statements.

Facebook has been rumoured to be considering entering the search engine market in direct competition with Google. This news comes as Google launches its first big above-the-line advertising campaign for Google+ to increase the number of people actively using the social networking site. According to comScore, Google+ has on average 226,000 visitors each day where as Facebook receives an average of 14,634,000 daily visitors.

Brand Recruitment, a specialist Marketing and PR recruitment agency, has noticed an increase in the number of companies looking to recruit for online marketing jobs and are being asked to source candidates that have strong social media marketing experience. This reflects the continued use of social media as part of a company’s online marketing strategy and shows how effective it can be when used by brands.
